Date briwat with chocolate
Ingredients:
- 800 gr Safawi dates
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp butter (cold)
- 1 tbsp orange blossom water
- 50 g almonds
- 50 g walnuts
- 200 g milk chocolate
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 25 g finely chopped nuts of your choice
Preparation method
- Pit the dates and put them in a pan with cinnamon and a little water. Heat on low heat until the dates are soft (about 5 minutes).
- Puree the dates together with the butter and orange blossom water to a smooth paste. Let it rest covered for half an hour.
- Roll out the pasta between two sheets of baking paper and cut into 3 cm wide strips.
- Chop the nuts coarsely and scoop a small spoonful onto each bar. Fold the bar into a triangle and press the edges firmly closed. Leave to set in the fridge for half an hour.
- Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie. Dip the triangles in the chocolate and let them drain. Place them on baking paper and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Let the chocolate harden in the fridge.
