Date coffee buns
Ingredients:
- 125 ml lukewarm whole milk
- 8 grams of dry yeast
- 250 grams of plain flour
- 25 grams of granulated sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg size M
- 50 grams unsalted butter, melted
- 1 vanilla pod marrow
- 250 grams of mabroom dates
- 20 ml orange blossom water
- 30 grams of roasted sesame seeds
- 10 grams of vanilla bourbon paste
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 50 grams of apricot jam
- almond shavings
Preparation method
- Add 1 teaspoon of sugar and the yeast to the lukewarm milk. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Add flour, sugar, salt, egg and vanilla pulp. Add the yeast milk and melted butter. Knead for 10 minutes.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour. In the meantime, make the date paste from the steamed dates, vanilla, sesame, cinnamon and orange blossom water.
- Roll out the dough, spread the almond paste on it and form rolls. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake the rolls for 20 minutes at 180°C. Spread with warm apricot jam and garnish with almond flakes.
